Objective: Interpupillary distance more than 2 SD below the mean OR Interpupillary distance below the 3rd centile
Subjective: The interpupillary distance appears to be decreased
The finding is measured according to Hall et al. [2007]. Note that the data from Hall et al. [2007] show SD for newborns and centiles for older patients. In the latter data, there is a continuing increase in this measurement between 14 and 15 years of age, so in the objective finding cannot be made using these norms in persons above 15 years of age.
