Lagophthalmos

Definition:

Subjective: Inability to totally close the eyelids while awake, asleep, or both

Comments:

It may be an isolated finding or part of a syndrome [Korula et al., [1995]] and can be associated with Ectropion. Lagophthalmos frequently results in chronic conjunctival and/or corneal irritation.
